thats not a healthy mentality sweetie! the point is not to get used to being by yourself but to focus all of your attention to finding people that brings the best in you and make you feel special. its not easy but when you find them they are so worth the wait and effort. its also very important to realize that relationships no matter what kind have to have a great deal of effort put into them. i have a friend who always complains that she has no friends except me except she doesnt try at all to keep in touch with other people that maybe she may have a chance of being really good friends with. she is so afraid of being hurt by new friends that she would much rather be by herself. i told her as i will tell you that unless there is a change within yourself first, you will always be stuck in your own loneliness that YOU create for yourself!

I dont think she's talking about friends here, I think she's afraid of being alone with the feeling of missing and the incapability of having around the one person she loves/dreams about. Maybe I'm wrong..still
